What to expect for group workouts

Each class will last approximately 1 hour
*I tend to go over*

The basic breakdown of the classes will be as follows:

  • Warm up: 5 minutes

  • Cardiovascular conditioning/intervals: 25-30 minutes

  • Strength training: 20-25

  • Cool down: 5 minutes

*I will likely include a short yoga practice after class, so if you have the time (15-20 additional minutes), bring your mats.

We will primarily be using our own body weight as resistance, but I may periodically bring cones, agility ladders, exercise bands or medicine balls for circuit training.

I believe exercise should be fun (NOT monotonous drudgery). No class will be exactly the same. I am a big believer in cross-training and keeping our bodies "guessing" in order to avoid plateaus and burnout. While we will repeat some exercises in our classes, we will change the intensity, duration or mix-up the order. I will do my best to keep you from getting bored!

I do not call these classes "Boot Camps" for a few reasons. First, I do not intend to yell at you or belittle you for listening to your own body. I want you to respect your physical limitations and strengths. Second, I want EVERYBODY to feel welcome and just hearing the term "boot camp" scares some people away. I will strive to push those of you who need extra intensity, while offering modifications for others.

Please feel free to post any questions, concerns or comments.
Hope to see you soon!
